Natural swimming pool, swim pond, natural pool, pond pool: all the same thing
"Natural swimming pool" (NSP) is the industry's technical term for a chemical-free, biologically filtered pond you swim in, so natural swimming pool, swim pond, natural pool, pond pool and swimming pond all describe one thing. Water kept clear by a planted regeneration zone and the bacteria living in its gravel instead of by chlorine. No chlorine, no liner-and-tile shell, and water that looks like a clear lake rather than a blue rectangle. What we build: natural swim ponds and natural pools, recreational ponds at acre scale for swimming, fishing and wildlife, and conversions that turn an existing chlorine pool into a pond. What we do not build: chlorine, saltwater or mineral-system pools, and no gunite, concrete-shell or fiberglass pools. If a conventional pool is what you want, we are not the right builder for you.
Builder Payment Plans
We offer milestone-based payment plans that spread costs across the construction timeline: 30% due at contract signing, 30% at start date (commencement of excavation), 30% at substantial completion, and 10% at final walkthrough. This plan requires no interest payments. You simply pay as work progresses. Many clients combine a builder payment plan with a HELOC for maximum flexibility.
Overview
A natural swim pond is a significant investment. But it doesn't have to come out of pocket all at once. Multiple financing options make it possible to start enjoying your chemical-free oasis while spreading payments over time. Here's how to choose the right financing for your project.
Home Equity Loans & HELOCs
Home equity financing offers the lowest interest rates because your home serves as collateral. Since natural ponds add 5-15% to property value, the investment often increases your equity, sometimes more than the loan amount. Home equity loan: Fixed rate, fixed payments. Best for projects with a clear budget HELOC: Variable rate, draw as needed. Good if your project scope may change Example: $100,000 home equity loan at 6% for 15 years = ~$845/month
Personal & Pool Loans
Unsecured personal loans don't require home equity but carry higher rates. Several lenders specialize in pool and outdoor project financing: Example: $75,000 personal loan at 8% for 10 years = ~$910/month
Return on Investment
Natural ponds are one of the few home improvements that can pay for themselves: • Property value increase: 5-15% ($25K-$75K on a $500K home) • Annual savings vs pool: $2,000-$5,000/year in chemicals, energy, and maintenance • Break-even: Most owners reach positive ROI within 7-10 years Read our detailed ROI analysis for complete data.
